Cavendish Baptist currently employs one Senior Minister.

Born in Maine, raised in New Hampshire, Pastor Abraham H. Gross
graduated from Gordon College (BA, Biblical and Theological Studies, Concentration in Jewish Studies) and Andover-Newton Theological School (MA, Theology). His Master’s project was on the relationship between the Assumption of Moses, the Mount of Transfiguration, and the Assumption of Mary.

Raised with both Jewish and Baptist faiths, Pastor Abraham asked Jesus into his heart, became a Bar Mitzvah, and faithfully attended both synagogue and church while growing up. He also attended a Roman Catholic elementary school.

Beginning with his Bar Mitzvah sermon in 1991, Abraham started preaching. He regularly filled-in for various local ministers, and in 1992 the Lord called him permanently to ministry. Abraham married his high school sweetheart, Amanda, in 2000. Although his synagogue membership was repealed when he sought to become a Baptist minister, they continue to observe many Jewish holidays and practices.

With their six children, Isabelle, Estella, Cyrus, Judah, Ephraim and Berekiah, Pastor Abraham and Amanda have bought land in Cavendish and are planning to build a timber frame home. Pastor Abraham enjoys gardening, carpentry, and snowboarding at nearby Okemo Mountain. A part of the Baptist family in this region for over 35 years, he has been with Cavendish Baptist since 2002 and plans on retiring from this church… in about 25 years.
