Elevator Addition

We started talking about making the church building fully handicap accessible in the 1980s. We had a ramp to the sanctuary, but the rest of the building was inaccessible. The ramp eventually rotted and fell apart. In August 2004 we broke ground on the new addition and by winter we had the roof on.

We’ve been working on it, with varying amounts of help, since then. The elevator inspectors have told us in order to certify the lift, the finish floors and lights must be installed. Those items are near to the end of completion of the project, so we can not use the lift yet even though it is installed.

Here is the list of what needs to be done with an estimate (in parenthesis) of how many volunteer hours are required to complete that aspect of the project.
